Landsward Discovery Community

Landsward is guided by a board of directors made up of four members and a chairperson. The board oversees the financial and corporate functions of the Foundation. In addition, it is responsible for establishing the Landsward Discovery Community that advises the board on programs, research and topics for consideration by Landsward. The Discovery Community strives to ensure that the vision, mission and goals of Landsward are met. The board of directors also appoints an executive director, whose duties include providing support to the Discovery Community.

The Landsward Discovery Community is made up of advisors who serve to provide perspective and guidance on the ecological, technological and social components of the Landsward mission.

Purpose

The Landsward Discovery Community strives to:

•  Provide vision and guidance to the Foundation.

​

•  Advise the Foundation on research priorities, protocols and a common lexicon.

​

•  Advance ecological and social science, Land-Use Ethic research and natural resource conservation.

​

•  Ensure diverse perspectives are considered.

​

•  Present insight on the scientific issues of the day.
